Swans vs Wildcats Legends Match and Reunion

Still suffering from the over-exuberance of the night before, I crawled onto a plane to Melbourne. Less than 2 hours later I was stepping out a cab into the shadows of the MCG. I was here to watch my former Sussex Swans teammates take on former greats from the West London Wildcats in a reunion grudge match. It was great to see so many club legends together at one time and the first time most had played as teammates - as their tenures with the club span over a decade.
We got off to a shocking start, giving them a 6 goal head start with the wind in the first 1/4 - but we outscored them in each of the remaining 1/4's and when the final siren blew, we were less than one straight kick in arrears. Gutted. Pipped by the arch enemies AGAIN!!
Oh well, never mind. That just signalled our departure for the pub. Back onto the sauce. It was great to catch up with all the boys again. The post-match reunion was a huge success and a number of guys kicked on into the wee hours. Two thumbs up to TS and Buckets for staying out with me until 5am. Cheers to Buckets for lending me his couch that night (morning) and giving me a hurried lift to the airport the next day.
