Arrival in Sydney

Having departed London on Wednesday night, the whole of Thursday was spent flying to Sydney. I hate long haul, especially when flying an airline without video on demand. (Qantas sux, 3 cheers for Singapore Airlines!!) Getting into Sydney International by 7am, I made my way north by train to Gordon, then by bus to Terry Hills and since there was no one yet around to give me a lift, on foot towards Cottage Point. Almost got all the way there before the Doro, Leanne, Russ and Kristi picked me up. By this point I'd walked about 10kms with my backpack .. they all thought I was nuts - but it was nice just to take a stroll through the Australian bush again.
A dozen of us (mates from Uni) had rented a glamorous apartment on the banks of the river. We spent the afternoon and evening acquaniting ourselves with the fantastic facilities, which included two great BBQ's, a spa and a dingy! The dingy came in handy for a quick trip around the point to a bottleshop. The beers were necessary - but easily the most expensive VB I've drunk in my life. If you're ever going to cottage point .. watch out for that little shop .. charges like a wounded bull.
