Morse Lake, Memorial Day Weekend
May 24, 2008
Those of us who chose to celebrate the weekend away from the race headed north to Morse Lake. With plenty of warm weather and sunshine, we enjoyed an abundance cookouts and relaxing out on the lake. Some friends of mine were also celebrating a birthday Saturday, so we all gathered together at Jason’s (TB member jasonhunt) for food, fun and a live DJ. After plenty of food, drinks, crazy missions on the golf cart, more drinks, everyone turned in (or for some, passed out) for the evening to rest up for Sunday.
Sunday proved to be better than Saturday, with 80-degree weather and plenty of sunshine. We spent the better part of the day in the cove; everyone’s boats all tied off together, exchanging stories from the previous evenings festivities. Afterwards, we all met at a friend's house for dinner. About 25 marinated steaks, Buffalo burgers, and a few side dishes later, we sat out on the patio and indulged even further with tasty desserts and a little authentic Mexican tequila.
After a few photos at sunset, friendly thank you’s and good byes, we all pilled into our boats and went our separate ways, sun-drained and well fed.
