Carb Day at IMS

With Memorial Day just a few days away, race fans start migrating to Indianapolis Motor Speedway by tens of thousands. With so many different pre-race activities, there is always something to entertain everyone, from the race novice to the diehard fans. For those locals who are a bit "raced out" from previous years, there is beautiful Morse Lake just north of Indy. I chose to indulge in both activities this year!

Carb Day at IMS

Carb day is the Friday before the Indy 500. Today the drivers make final adjustments to their cars, and a few lucky race fans can tour the infamous Gasoline Alley, and get an up-close look at the cars.

The Miller Light Concert Deck, located infield, also hosts a concert to entertain the early arriving race fans. This year Stone Temple Pilots hosted the rain or shine event. And rain it did, the whole day! Those of us who chose to tuff out the elements were treated to a great show.
