Kennebunk Beach
May 24, 2008
Kennebunk Beach, upon arrival, was instantly and obviously one of the cleanest beaches I've seen, at least in New England. I'm fairly certain that the sand was whiter and the water was bluer than at most beaches around here. We walked around for a bit, enjoying the tranquil day, replete with large billowy clouds, but it began to rain after a while... evidenced by the threatening looking storm clouds rolling in (despite this, it never actually rained for more than 15 minutes at a time the whole day). Before packing it in, we ran out onto some clam flats (apparently it was very very low tide) which stretched a good 500 feet at least out to where the water normally occupies.
