Concert w/Julz - Alice 97.3 - Now and Zen Fest in Golden Gate Park!
OMG!! The day was finally here. Julz got us tickets to see the Now and Zen Fest in Sharon Meadow @ Golden Gate Park. Scheduled artists included: Lenka, Sara Bereilles, Sugar Ray, Gavin DeGraw, and Duffy. Other than having to get up at 5:45am while still being sick to drive down to San Jose, I couldn't have been more excited!!!
It was the PERFECT day although Trino (JTrinoG) flaked on us (LOL) and my friend Gavin (GavinBPayne) wanted to wander the City so it was just Julz and I which was fine by us. We got there early and planted ourselves firmly at the center of the stage, about 10-15 feet back so we had an amazing view!!!
The concert was incredible and although I had taken half a box of Benadryl, I managed to stay wide awake and enjoyed every minute of it! Lenka who we had never heard of (apparently she did the song for the new 90210) was the first artist up and she was very good.
She had an amazing voice and I think will go far.Sara Bareilles being from the Bay Area drew quite the crowd and had people running up all through the show to get video or just a closer look at her.
Sugar Ray - OMG! No words necessary. HOTTIE! This was probably my 5th time seeing him in concert and he's more amazing every time I see them. Mark McGrath knows how to play the audience and every girl out there, 15-50 was drooling! LOL. You will note the bulk of my photos are of him, errr, them. HA HA
Gavin DeGraw was also amazing and much more handsome in person than I realized. I had a moment of realizing how old I am when teenage girls start screaming out that they want to have his children. Oh my! For those who aren't familiar with Gavin DeGraw, One Tree Hill fans will know.
Lastly, Duffy was the main one performing....I knew none of her songs other than her hit single, "Mercy". We sent pics and audio to Jillian and Melanie who both are Duffy fans - wish you guys could've been there!
After the concert, we ended up wandering over to another part of Golden Gate park where a drum circle was happening and Julz found out her cousin and fellow, TB'er Leah (Leah151) was there! We went over and hung with Leah for a bit who I had not seen since originally meeting her at the San Francisco January 08 meet up! LOL. It was a unique experience and one Gavin is probably not soon to forget!! HAHA
Julz, I can't thank you enough for the most wonderful day....no need to write anymore than this - the great pics (and videos) of the performers speak for themselves - AWESOME SHOW!! :D Until next year Julz!
