We set out on foot out of Popoyo, and managed to miss the 8am bus despite catching a ride with some friendly swiss guys, and being at the bustop early. So then we jagged a ride with a guy from the US, living in Nica. Originally he was giving us a ride to Rivas... but we got talking...then it was the border, then Tamarindo in CR! Once again... fallen on my feet. Nina and I slipped across the border in the company of our new friends, eliminating any hassles, as they had done it before. The guys then extended an invite to stay with them at their house thye had lined up at Playa Negra south of Tamarindo.
...which turned out to be plush!!! a massive house, overlooking the ocean and a good point break. We spent two days surfing, chilling out, eating good food (we bought groceries!), hot showers, real beds.... modern living! I figure its ok every now and then to enjoy the good life.... it stops you from getting tired of the regular backpacker routine of bad beds, bad food and cold showers....
From my first impression of Costa Rica, it's a nice place... very modern. IT is familiar and comfortable and comes as a welcome change... for now.
...so Broomy was getting annoyed with my vague plans to come meet up with him, and he got wind of me being in Playa Negra.... where he found me! in the surf, i looked over.... and heard 'you're a hard man to track down zak'.... very funny. he found me in the surf at some random beach in Costa Rica!!!
