Robin & Alexander filming each other at the Alcobendas hotel
Alex shows to pick us up, we had sweet espresso coffee at the hotel bar, then we leave. Alex takes us to the center of the capital, it's packed of people... Ana went shopping for some boots - in vogue in Madrid
- thereafter, we continue walking. There is the sculpture of the bear and the tree, Alex tell us it's the symbol of the city, the Kilometro Cero (KM 0), and see many street artists; we got to Plaza Mayor (main square), there's a girl dancing flamenco, other artists, and many people; we are hungry by now and decide to eat right there, we sit at an outdoor table, and we had a very good meal - roasted chicken, potatoes, wine... delicious! By the way, the waiter there was also a Cuban immigrant. With a full stomach we go on, visit the Palacio Real, the gardens, keep on walking to fulfill one of Ana’s dreams, see the Puerta de Alcalá.
Walking through Madrid was awesome, we saw and photographed many places, and we encountered a march against the government's policies towards terrorists all the way to Puerta de Alcalá, it was a see of Spanish flags, very colorful, even more with the setting sun light, we had to cross the march. Finally we arrived, there an army of street cleaning crews and vehicles, swept and had the area spotless in a blink of an eye! Ana couldn't believe her eyes, there was the monument made famous outside of Spain by a song of Ana Belén & Manuel Serrat. We took the mandatory pictures then headed back, got to the Prado Museum, but sadly, it was already closed! (next time!), Alex had both feet with sores, we were tired too, still all three kept on walking, buying souvenirs and in the evening we had dinner at Giscle's restaurant again. More wine! ¡Salud! Around 10 pm we left the place, stopped at the Real Madrid’s stadium where Alex’s father, Julio was waiting for him, we talked a little, said farewells and took off to Pamplona
