First impressions...
May 17, 2008
Upon arrival in Cancun we were greeted by a sea of people, humidity and of course TEQUILA. It appeared to be beautiful coastal city with stunning turquoise ocean, blue skies and coarse white sand. The locals were extremely hospitable and friendly, making sure we were able to get to our destination.
The van trip to our villa was an experience in itself with limited road markings and complete disregard for speed limits. Despite this my eyes were glued to the coastline the whole time :D. We drove along hotel central ( a 20km stretch of hotels lining the coast) encountering everything from the luxurious crowne paradise to the humble but beautiful shacks.
A slight villa mixup arose after our van adventure ended however was soon cleared up after swapping and changing a couple of times.
Before settlong in I took myself down to the sand to sit and soak up some of the atmosphere... 8.30 pm, The water still warm and the sun still making itself known. Helicopters continued to pass with great banners dragging behind advertising the local hot spots for the night to come....
Nightlife curiosity set in!
