Teepee building for beginners
The ferry was an hour late leaving Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland but underway we watched Nim's Island and fell asleep in a very cold lounge onboard ship. We arrived at about 4:00am and headed straight back to Cabot shores.
After a good catchup sleep I took a canoe up Indian Brook to see the water falls. It was a real effort getting up there, but exhilarating coming back down through the rapids!
Back at Cabot shores, I paddled in just as P (the Cabot shores head honcho), his friend E (a teepee assembly expert) and M (a random french girl) were just starting to put the teepee together. In amoungst working the bar and building the bridge I had also previously been preparing teepee poles (28 ft long spruce trunks). The poles were now ready and the canvas and rope kit were brought out of hiding. Chaos and comusion ensued as we tried to set the frame up whilst being attacked by mosquitoes, but eventually the frame and the canvas were in place.
Also see the postings for my Squirel video and waves breaking at the arches (Newfoundland).
Heading off to New Brunswick tomorrow, then on to Massachusetts on thursday.
