Sydney, The boathouse on the harbour
As I near the teen countdown for a hefty seven month trip, I am truly starting to be overwhelmed by the amount of time I’ll be homeless. Its the 23rd of May, I have just come home from my second last exam for the year. I have one left on Monday, and then starts the slow final countdown to the departure. I will probably find another thousand things to do in this time period, one of which is try to organize my going away party.

I recommend obtaining some great music to get you in the travel mood. It has an ability to open your mind rhythmically, and show you the endless possibilities of self enlightenment. I’ve recently been looking for a Digital SLR camera to travel with, I have asked a few of my photographer friends of their recommendations, but as Dan Airely in Predictably Irrational states I’m stuck between 2 alternative open doors.
I could be just as happy with either, so I just should flip a coin; but thats not going to happen. Choosing between two very similar options should be simple, but in fact its not. Dan Airely truly knows what he’s talking about, although in practice knowing the fact that we are constantly procrastinating a choice, doesn't make it an easier one to make.

Its just like the choices of where to go, what to see and the alternative routes to get there. Planning my journey, I had to make compromises due to money, location, times, and effort. Many of them were logistical difficulties, such as landing in San Francisco, or flying into LA. I had the choice, and decided to leave LA to the departure of the trip. Do I know if this is a good choice; no, although not knowing right now is acceptable. At the groundwork stage of my trip I discussed with friends where to stay in Canada, the choice was Vancouver, and the activity was working for 3 months. Now, the trip has changed as I’m only working 1 month, still Vancouver, but I had to share the time carefully with traveling the US.

Im sure by the end of next week, Ill have more changes, more alternative routes. Just another letter to add to my alphabet of alternative doors open. Plan A, B, and possibly C...
