Meet up with Erin
Wow, what a great afternoon reconnecting with Erin and over some of our most favorite wines. The afternoon was a great time to relax, share our stories, sip some great wine and eat some really good food. Erin invited me to attend the new reserve release party out at Todd Taylor winery at the Old Sugar mill in Clarksburg, CA. The time was very relaxing as we at some really good vegetable orzo and an even more succulent grilled pork tenderloin. The wines including the Reserve Primitivo which was just out of this world. I have to admit that I loved the 2008 Zinfandel Clockspring vineyard and the 2007 Sangiovese Bell Road. They poured the wine like it was water, and I think I enjoyed it like a man finding his way out of the desert without water for a few days. They were just all so good.
Met some other people who found passion in talking about and drinking these boutique wines. Erin had a couple of other friends named Martin and Surrender. I am not sure if I am spelling her name correctly, but she was a very nice young lady. The setting was just perfect. The Old Sugar mill has 4 other wineries in the facility. You can log on to Todd’s site and link to the others: www.toddtaylorwines.com I am sure you will enjoy the place that is so close to Sacramento.
Check out my review of the Old Sugar Mill and take a moment to stop in and have a nice taste of these great wines.
