Gardens, Herbs, and Peacocks
One of my coworkers told me about
It’s relatively easy to find, but we didn’t know that. Thanks to Liz and Jack (Dan’s Mom and Step-Dad) we found the place. It was absolutely beautiful. We headed straight for the sale. I picked up arugula, watercress, thyme, basil, lavender, and a few other interesting herbs. After walking them to the car, we walked around a bit.
The 40-some acres are just beautiful. The house is also extremely pretty. You are only allowed in one small part of the residence, but you can get a good idea.
The greenhouses were also very beautiful. I could spend an entire afternoon walking around the well-landscaped gardens. All the flowers are labeled. I fed the ducks in the small pond by the truck.
The real highlight was the peacocks. I’m attempting my first YouTube video and adding it here. You can see this one peacock who was trying pretty hard to find himself a girlfriend. He was putting on quite a show. He first took interest in a light brown colored female, but she had nothing to do with him. He then flounced over to a small white female, and while she showed a bit more interest, he didn’t seem like he was having a great deal of luck. Poor guy. J
There were a few tour groups and a few couples getting engagement pictures around the grounds. I can see why you’d want professional portraits here, everything was just beautiful. I would like to go back on a warmer (non-rainy) summer day.
