Inspired by travelman727's review, here is a blog listing some of my favorite places to grub from around the world.

#2 A'gusto

This restaurant is located near the tomb of Augustus on the east side of the Tiber. Roman dishes are typically known for their inventive uses of less than ideal ingredients. Tripe, which is the stomach lining of a cow or pig, served with sauce is an example. Thankfully, A'gusto breaks with tradition and serves dishes with a more modern flair. I had a homemade pasta dish and a succulent piece of roasted pork. I was kind of worried at first because the waiter warned me that the pork would still be slightly pink on the inside, but it ended up being tender, delicious and non-fatal. It's not cheap, but it's also probably the best food I had during my four months in Rome.

This place can get pretty popular and is highly recommended by the locals, so make sure to make reservations.

i'm sad to tell u that " Da Gusto" isn't the best place where u can eat...but according to my opinion (beeing rome my city) is one of the worst known just 'cause it's a posh place where u can go to look at other people and been looked by others...it's true that trippa is a typical dish of roman cousine...but we don't eat it (it's rare and really for tourists)so i'm sorry but u missed a good opportunity to eat great as u can do almost everywhere here and even cheapper then "Gusto"(where i normally go just for a coffe or aperitivo)....sorry

I saw that place more than once but never went in. Now I regret that decision!

It's hard to beat that winning three-fold combination: tender, delicious and non-fatal! Yum!
