I went to see Waihe'e Falls over on the windward side of the island. The hike is easily followed and has some wonderful views of the canyon. The waterfall was wonderful because you could walk right up to it and just let the falls pour over you. Quite the feeling after a couple miles up! The hike was especially nice because I saw only one other couple at the beginning so I had the whole trail to myself.
I drove along the North Shore in the early afternoon and stopped to check out Chinaman's Hat.
Next stop was La'ie Point which is completely sandstone. The hole that was punched through (see the picture) was created by a tsunami. Pretty cool stuff and the sandstone was fun to explore.
I continued my drive along the coast and stopped at Sunset Beach to take a nap out on the beach. Life can't get much better than a power nap on a Hawaiian Beach:o)
Last stop of the day was a trek up to see Waimea from way up on high. What a gorgeous view. I couldn't really even comprehend what I was seeing. Truly just one of those times you say wow I am SO blessed to be able to see such amazing things.
