Moscow is the capital and the untouchable centre of Russia: politically, administrative, economically and cultural. It is also the centre of science and religion. To a card of Russia the function of the city is read also clearly: all ways lead to Moscow. With more than ten millions inhabitants it also the largest city of the country. The population of Moscow have much more rapidly grown than in the foreseen. For this reason starts there in the fifties a huge house construction programme . The city has made that not more beautiful , at least true it concerns the suburbs. Those existence from immense range bleak concrete condominiums.
They have been maintained badly and frequently of piteous quality . In the centre of the city the Communists have left their tracks also behind. There are many bldg. in Stalinist style and broad (parade) boulevards. The peak is the red square, 700 meters long and 130 meters broad. The name red square has existed already since the 17th century. Rood means, as it happens, also beautiful in Russian. To that on itself already impressive square lies the Kremlin thats the seat of the government is.  By the red square also stands allready more than hundred years the GOeM-winkelcentrum. It is the most beautiful and largest that you ever will see. The underground railway of Moscow is an attraction on itself. Especially the oldest stations in the centre its truth art work. They have a luxurious irradiation with marble floors, splendid stucco work, pictures and other decorations.
