Hoek van Holland (the corner of Holland) is situated on the North Sea cost.

In the summer I often take the train from Rotterdam to Hoek van Holland.

The station Hoek van Holland Strand (beach) is located close to the beach, the other station Hoek van Holland Haven (harbour) is located to the Stena Line terminal.

There`s also a ramshackle boemel train, which brings you directly from the train station to the beach, I hate that little train and it`s expensive when you consider that it is an awful ride.

Better you can walk and drink a cup of coffee instead of, during the walk to the beach, then you're sure you enjoy the way from the station to the beach.

When the sun is shining it's really nice to go to the beach which is 250 metres wide and 3,5 kilometres long, bordered by a vast and freely accessible area of dunes.

Hoek van Holland has everything to offer for an enjoyable day out.

There are showers, toilets, deck chairs, parasols and windscreens also can be rented.

There are several good beach pavilions with a large terrace.

Not only is the beach kept perfectly clean, but a great deal of attention is paid to the safety aspect.

If it's blowing too hard, you can lie down in the dunes, when you're  in love that's  really a nice place for lovers.

In and around Hoek van Holland are various areas of natural beauty.

There are also many possibilities for recreational sports.

You even can rent a bike to make long or short cycling routes.

Through woodland and dunes to the beach and sea Hoek van Holland offers you a stroll through characteristic landscapes including a long walking route or the beach a pier route.

If you like to walk in your bare ass, there is a nudist beach with two nudist pavilions; but don`t forget your towel to sit on.

Dogs are not permitted there hehehe

When the sun doesn't shine it't a good idea to visit the museums, there's a resque museum and more.

I want to visit them once, then I put my photo`s here.

I also want to do the walk from the pier.

Sometimes you have to look beyond your nose to see there is more to see then on the first sight and so it is in Hoek van Holland.

That's why I wrote this blog, because Hoek van Holland is nice for a relaxing or active holiday, but most people do not know that.
