Archeon: The living past of the Netherlands.
Archeon is located in Alphen aan de Rijn, 30 minutes from Amsterdam airport.
In Archeon there are 43 buildings rebuild from archaeological findings in and around the Netherlands, which are inhabited by people who are dressed like our ancestors.
In Archeon you can see the daily life in the three periods of history:
The Prehistory, The Roman Period and The Middle Ages.
It`s really interesting and impressing to see how they lived in these periods.
Every day there are activities to do in Archeon and in the weekends there are special themes.
The people in the buildings are very friendly and spontaneously.
They know a lot about these periods.
This time I did a guided tour, which was very nice and interesting.
Also for kids its great, there`s a lot to do for them.
You can also sleep there for one or more days, but I prefer to sleep in a warm comfortable bed instead of sleeping in the Prehistory, dressed in an animal skin.
