4th and last day in Paradise
Our safari camp was a only 30 minutes drive away from Jim Jim falls and the next morning we woke up to the sound of the birds. What a lovely sunrise over the lake!
A cultural experience was awaiting us today. We started our day at Nouralandie Rock, I guess one of the most famous rock art and cultural sites in the world. The rock art concentrated in this area is magnificent, depicting mainly wildlife and Dreamtime stories and ranging in age from 20 000 years old to as recent as 40 years.
At Ubirr Rock we saw some fantastic Aboriginal Art sites and learned about the Aboriginal lifestyle and culture. After a short climb to the top of Ubirr Rock we were rewarded by a fantastic 360 degree view over floodplains and the Arnhemland Escarpment - a spectacular sight. Here we took a picture (no 9 pictures) of our group (1 Swedish, 1 Dutch, 1 Brit and 6 Germans) - we had a fun time together!!
We finished the day by sitting back and enjoying our private crocodile and wildlife cruise on Corroboree Billabong, a part of the Mary River system. We saw plenty of wildlife and of course a lot of crocodiles
I must say it was a fantastic tour with Wilderness 4WD Adventures! Thank you!
