Mt. Arayat-a dormant volcanoe outside of Clark

Ok, so the title doesn't do it justice.  Today is the first day I have some semblence of normality back to my body.  For the past 3 days I have been so freakin sick.  Seriously, I have had spotted Rocky Mountain Fever and a really really bad case of the flu to where I was in bed for a week.  This was bad.  On a scale of 1-10 from a pain threshold I would put it at about a 6.  So what did I learn?  hmm.  That being sick sucks and cipro doesn't cure everything regardless of what passport health tells you.  So up to speed.  Since the last entry I've been pretty busy.  On Saturday night we all went to dinner at a Mexican restaraunt where I took a ton of cool photos that somehow ended up deleted.  Crap.  They had a sign that read Pappa's and Beer-seriously I know its a drink but I thought that was great-its what my kids call me.

Also another sign that read Gringos-sign up here and be all you can be-join the mexican revolution.  So after dinner we went to club Bossa.  Do not ever go to this club, they tried ripping us off big time charging us 8,000 php for our night.  The actual bill all said and done was 5,000 php.  Saturday was also the day of the big storm.  It really wasn't that bad.  Quite frankly we have some harsher storms in New York.  Basically it rained for a day and a half and the wind picked up a little.  Some of the streets got flooded out.  Nothing really stopped, everyone went on about their business and life goes on I guess.  So I crashed on Saturday/Sunday Morning woke up and puttsed around the house for a while.  I kind of laughed at my cousin trying to do laundry.
Century Eggs at Sum Dim Rest. in Angeles City
It took him about 2 hours to do 1 small load.  It was a trip.  Sunday night we went to A La Creme in Angeles City and then Monday I got sick.  Not saying there's a connection just saying I got sick shortly after eating there.  And then three days in bed to now-almost 90% back to normal.

Probably the highlight of the last couple of days has been being able to see some of the surrounding beauty and get a littel immersed in the culture.  There are so many beautiful aspects of this place it amazes me every day.  Mt. Arayat is a dormant volcanoe that lies just outside of the city viewable as you drive down the main drag as some kind of memory of what was.

Sum Dim and a pawn shop-bad pic I know
The people here are awesome, I got out and visited some music shops and talked to some store owners for a while about doing business here and what it is like.  I haggled for about an hour and finally purchased a guitar.  A nice piece well made. I've had a chance to talk to street kids-so many everywhere you go.  It reminds me of being down south and the gutter punks I used to know.  Anyway, other than that its been work.  14-16 hour days at work. That seems to be the norm here, even yesterday trying to get out of here cause I felt like hell I ended up with a short day of 12 hours.  I'm lucky if we can get some of our teams to put in a full 8 hour shift without bitchin.  That is one part I will miss when I leave, the work ethic.
