Day one: Lima

Lima Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

One of the most amazing countries I have ever been to! I wish I had more than just 11 days there! I reccommend Machu Picchu for anybody to see at least once in their lifetime!

Day one: Lima

Fly in to Lima Int'l Airport. Our flight landed at around 10:30pm. We had reserved Hostal Residencial Victor and a ride to the hostel. It cost us $10  to ride for about 15 minutes, so it wasn't bad. However the hostel was horrible! Looked like the worst neighborhood in Lima. Hostel was behind a closed gate, so we kind of felt safe, but still!!! Then again, we wanted a cheap place to sleep as we had to wake up early morning to get back to the airport to pick up our friends and together fly to Cusco. At least we slept, not so well, but we slept! Drive back to the airport cost us $8. Why less? Probably because at that point you will realize that you can get taxi for very little in Peru! Just ask few drivers. They all want to take turists, and you can really bargain with them, if of course, you know you can!
