Day 3...Sunday.

On Sunday, after sleeping for 2.5 hours, I was up at 9:30 in the morning. As everyone else was still asleep I decided this would be a good time to get some postcards written to the people I promised back home...Joy, Yadira, Angel, and Melanie to name a few. (And you will be getting them as soon as Sylvie gets them mailed!!!) Sometime between 11 and noon I believe people started stirring and getting around. Warren and Alex had to be driving back to London, Dave was also going back to London, and sometime around 1 we were all heading out the door. The rest of us were meeting up with Wendy, Kim, Anna, and Joost to terrorize the streets of Antwerp!!!

The Sunday group included: Sylvie, Alex-b, Wendy, Kim, Ashish, J.C., Anna, Pieter, Joost, and me.

Here is the pic you wanted, Queen CW....Belgium Waffles!
And one of our first stops was to get some Belgian waffels and fries near the amusement park! I still had not tried either one, yet! The waffles I order were dipped in chocolate with cream and fruit on top! Delicious!!! And very rich, too! After that, I decided I needed something a little salty so I bought an order of fries with the sauce. And after we were alll finished eating our waffles and fries, we were off to the amusement park.

First stop, Bumber cars! Sylvie and I shared one car and she took the wheel! Oh my, I think I still have bruises from that! haha We also stopped at a stand where we discovered Pieter was quite skilled with the pellat gun shooting plastic balls. I think he won 3 or 4 stuffed animals. Then we visitied the slide where people sit on a gunny sack and race to the bottom! J.

C. won that contest! What else? Oh, the bungee ride! I had been on this ride back in the states, so I passed. But those daring enough to do it were J.C., Ashish, Pieter, and Wendy. We then did the log ride to get cooled off in the water. And by the way, I thought I would mention this here. Somehow I was under the impression that temperatures in Belgium would be cool and so I packed for cool temps. However, it was quite hot every day we were there! And I didn't have any shorts or short sleeve shirts! But, I survived. The weather was really beautiful, just a bit warm.

Along the way, we took rest at some places to sit and have a drink. Our last rest came at a cafe across the street from the amusement park. There we enjoyed more conversation, more drinks, and more smokes (right, Alex?). Toward evening, we said good bye to J.C. who was returning back to Spain, and to Alex who was going back to NL, and also to Kim. The rest of us headed off to Pieter's castle to order pizza and watch a movie. Around 10 or 11 that night, we said good bye and gave hugs as Wendy, Joost, and Anna had to be leaving. And then there was just Pieter, Ashish, Sylvie, and me. The four of us "laughed" it up until sometime after midnight, and then Sylvie and I retired for the night while Pieter and Ashish watched another movie.
