Sentosa Island

Today the weather looked fine again, so we went to Sentosa Island. Us plus one kid this time, we brought a niece along (sister-in-law's daughter). As I promised her that we would go and do something nice with her when we were there. A promise is a promise of course and besides that it's good fun too, for her and us;) And what do kids in Singapore like the most??...yes Sentosa Island of course!

For myself that was the second time I went to Sentosa after having been there in 2003 for the first time. With in mind that there are each year lots of changes in Singapore I was curious to find out what might all have changed there since last time. That started already with a newly added way of entering Sentosa Island. Besides the already so many various ways to get to the Island they now added The Sentosa Express, a light rail train system.

It provides access to Sentosa and transports in less than four minutes to Sentosa Station from VivoCity Station. That's new so of course we had to try that out, not that that was such a trill though;) Now they were building the new Casino we could see while we were on the train. Also inside the park many changes again, new rides added old ones were taken down. Last time we were there the Musical Fountain was still there for example, now no more and replaced by a nightly water, light and fire show called: Songs of the Sea.

At the end of the day I came to the conclusion that Sentosa Island is still far from a spectacular fun-filled theme park. It's simply not entertaining enough for a whole day's fun. Sentosa Island...if you never saw it before, ok go and check out yourself, but if you already went don't bother to go a second time I'd say. Perhaps they should also instead one single entry ticket for Sentose Island and after that no more separate fees per ride.
