Marksburg Castle
During my very first trip to Germany while visting friends. My friend Sonja and her family took me on a sunday family outing. The scene was like this: the Vater was driving, the Mutter was in the passenger seat pointing out all the lovely things as we drive along the autobahn and Rhine, their tochter was sitting quietly while her crazy american friend is going 'Ohhh, Awww' over shit i guess is there like how i would feel about green grass growing...
Anyways we made it to Marksberg, had lunch in a Barrel-looking authentic german restaurant, the service was terrible the Borgmanns told me.
The waitetress asked me in english if " I WANTED WATER WITH GAS".
I replied, " I DONT KNOW, SHOULD I ???"
Call me rude, but i didnt know she meant the carbonated water.
After lunch we were looking for the Marksberg Castle. Too many twisting roads...
SCHLOSS MARKSBERG OR BURG...TOMATO..TOMATOE..however u like..
This place was hard to find, the walk up to the Castle took a couple breaths outta me. The place was my first real visit to a medieval castle and it was the only one intact in Germany. All I remember about the Castle was that it was amazing and I have included photos from my first trip. Built in the 12th century, it was a guided tour in german. which was ok, cuz one I'm suppose to be learning German, the only way i can truly immearse myself in the culture was to do that..and secondly i didnt need to understand what the guide was saying for me to appreciate the castle!
This was a guided tour that showed us where everything is in a caste, i cant elaborate any further, a castle is what you expect!
