We stayed in a place called Uthlid for the next 2 nights. We have rented a little hut with our own hot tub! It was bliss! We bought food in a supermarket on the way...very expensive and just had dinner and tried the hot tub! I am telling you, there's nothing better than a hot tub after a long day walking around in the cold! The water was coming straight from the hot springs. You'll have to get used to the smell but after a while you won't notice anymore.
The hut was fantastic, very cosy...no radiators and it was roasting in there. We had the windows open all the time because we couldn't find anything where we could turn down the heat. The hut had a little kitchen/dining/sitting room, a bedroom and a bathroom. The hottub was in an extra part of the hut, so you didn't need to walk outside to get to it. We had a nice view from our patio. There are different size huts around, to suit different needs. We got recommended the hut by Bragi from the Loney Planet forum as well. It was our best stay and the next time we will try and stay for longer. We had Astarbunga and payed €140 for 2 nights but normally they are around €120 per night. The facilities include a small restaurant and TV room as well. They are located at the reception, where you can also find the swimming pool. Needless to say, the pool was closed in November :)
