stopped at services in austria for about 30 mins. our coach then stopped off in vienna to drop people off and pick up.
arrived at bratislava coach station at 9.00 am. me and dad got a taxi to the hotel spirit and we unloaded our stuff.
we then went around the city looking for a bank to change my travellers cheques but had a real problem.
found a taxi driver who knew where i could change my cheques and he took us out of the city to one of the neighbourhoods where i changed £220 travelers cheques for some slovak money. the taxi driver waited for us and took us back to hotel spirit. the taxi fare was ridiculously high, it didn't take me long to realise taxi drivers are the same all over the world.
in our hotel room the television didn't work (not that it bothered me). couldn't get water out of the shower or flush the toilet due to the road works outside.
went out again and had a pizza at the cafe bar at the train station.
back at the hotel i phoned mom to say i got here o.k.
dad couldn't get in touch with zuzane, who lives in zilliner near the mountains. we was going to visit.
the euro plugs what dad purchased were no good in slovakia.
all in all my first day in a foriegn country was a experience.
