we passed through zagreb fairly quickly and went to bled. bled is a small town on the edge of lake bled, which has a castle, and an island in the middle of it with a church.
the place we stayed on first impressions seemed like the perfect hostel, it was really nice, and the owner was really friendly and helpful. at second glance, turned out he was a complete psycho, but im not going to dwell on that! needless to sayx, we avoided him as much as possible!!
so, bled. on the way into bled on the first morning, we met 2 gus who were staying in our hostel, JP and aussie rob. we ended up hiring a row boat and rowing accross the lake to the island with them... i say we... me and holly ucked at the rowing!! haha. give me a kayak any day! i think we really have JP to thank for the rowing!
the island was very small, and we objected to paying to go into the church, so didnt, but it was pleasant, and the boat was fun! we also went up to the castle, which is a pretty cool place, AMAZING views, and very informative!
we did river tubing on one fo the rivers close to bled, which involved sitting on a rubber ring and going down the river. that was fun, but looking back, rafting or kayaking would have been better. but not complaining.
i did like bled, but i think if i go back i will do so with more money! they do so many extreme sports around there, it would be awesome! on the last day we went to the swimming bit of the lake which was also really good! much better than swimming in the sea, a big lack of salt! haha.
again, had a very relaxing few days! heading back to ljubljana soon to drop off holly and rachael and i are heading to salzburg. should be good, but it will be odd wihtout holly!!
