after getting into zagreb, we left pretty much straight away, and went to a place called plitvice lakes national park. well, there is a lot, yet surprisigly little that i could say about this decision.
we arrived on the bus in plitvice, about 230km away from zagreb, got dropped in the middle of nowhere, and phones the hostel to see if we could be picked up or at least given directions. turns out, the woman from the hostel was absolutly awesome! she was so nice its unbelievable! she picked us up, apologising for how small her car was (dont apologise, you have a car and are willing to drve us places!!)
the place we stayed was basically a room in her house, which was nice. not only that but she gave us lifts to the national park and back, and to the bus station, and pretty much anywhere we wanted! we were directed to an amazing place to eat, so nice, and after so much travelling just passed out for the night! the next day was spent in the national park
theres not much more i can say than that! (but i will try anywaY)
this place is most probably the most beautiful place i have seen in my entire life! the lakes and waterfalls are just stunning, i have taken loads of pictures, but the colour of the water, the picture perfect scenery, just makes the photos look faked! i can assure you however that my computer skills do not extend as far as photoshopping things to look THAT good!
this place really does have a natural beauty that is just beyong words. even people who dpont like walking would happily hike around this park (as demonstrated by rachael!) and its almost too much to take in!
so, on to ljubljana next, then pula on the coast or istria! more relaxing! hehe
