Today we finally met Deb. It has been a long time that we have been saying, "we will have to get together". We met at the Portabello Cafe in Newport (Port Adelaide) and enjoyed a beautiful Tapas lunch. Our daughter Sarah and son-in-law Rick joined us there for lunch too. The cafe is set among blocks of appartments, one of which Sarah and Rick live in, so afterwards we went to the appartment so that Deb could view the surrounds from the balcony on the 5th floor.
We talked about what we might do for the afternoon and decided to go to Mannum. We said our goodbyes to Sarah and Rick and then headed off. We left Debs car there too. We took a roundabout route as usual. We headed for the Gorge Rd. It has been a long time since Andrew and I have driven that road too, so it was nice to see the changes. I just happened to spot a Koala so we stopped to take photoes. Then Andrew took a dirt road, there were sheep and goats in the paddocks. Then we saw the emu too.
We arrived in Mannum. It was very quiet there but we had a coffee before going across the river on the punt. We drove through Murray Bridge and then back to Adelaide. Time for an evening meal! We went into a place called Alfresco and had a lovely meal before taking Deb back to her car. It has been a beautiful day and Deb is a lovely person who we definately look forward to meeting again!
