Said farewell to Joc today. She is on her way back to Madrid. We took the Metro to Notre Dame. Did the walk around tour of Notre Dame which is also very impressive. Well worth the visit when you are in Paris. We then headed for a cafe for some lunch. KL and Cam had a lovely salad while Nick fed his teenage hunger with a hotdog and fries. We then walked around the smaller of the islands so that we could by an icecream from a place recommended to us by friends before our last visit. It was great again! If you like icecream and are in Paris head across to the small island from the rear of Notre Dame and you will see the icecream stand out the front of the cafe as soon as you get over the bridge. Berthilde or something like that, and it has green awnings.
We then walked back through the side streets to the town hall and went into a department store so we could use their toilet. Unfortunately the lift Cam and the pram were in broke down on the way down, luckily at a floor so we he wasn't stuck in a lift. We caught the metro to the "Palais Garnier" (Opera House) only to find that it was closed today. So we went for a look at "Galeries Lafayette" (Department Store). This has been built inside old buildings and again well worth a look. Prices were a little on the high side even with the sales but we enjoyed looking around.
We then headed to the metro for a quick trip home. We decided to have dinner in as Ashley's teeth were really playing up. Quite a bit of screaming, even in her sleep! Nick and Cam went and got some ham and baguettes and we had a nice light dinner. Then a game of cards before hitting the sack.
