Well first full day in Paris and we were ready for it all. Started with breakfast in the apartment. We had bought some cereal last night and KL popped down the road and grabbed some croissants.
While I am at it we will tell you about our apartment. It is quite good. Very handy to the Metro at "Place de la Republik". This line is great as it goes everywhere. The apartment is a one bedroom place with two fold out sofas in the lounge room so it could accommodate six people. The apartment is on Rue Taylor and booked through www.apartmentparis.fr It has a dining table for six and a pretty good modern kitchen. Also has cable TV and WIFI. Only down size is the size of the bathroom.
We hit the road and walked to Musee d'Orsay which was a fair hike considering KL's knees these days. We all really enjoyed the museum although Nick got bored with all the paintings pretty quick. We had lunch at the cafe in the museum which was ok. Baguettes again. Then off to the tower. We got caught again by the wrong queue. A handy hint for anyone travelling to Europe is to go to the front of the line and check all the signs and ask questions to make sure you are in the correct one. When we got to the front (40 odd minutes in line) there was a sign saying that this queue was for stairs only. A bloody lot of stairs as you can imagine. KL's knees and Cam's back (carrying Ashley and pram) would never make it. So off we went and decided to return the next day. Also because of KL's knees we decided to get the Metro home. This was Ashley's first train trip. She was a bit freaked out, especially once the accordian dude started playing. She wasnt that impressed with his music. All was good and nice and quick.
We headed out to a great little Italian place for dinner and had salad and piazzas. YUM!
Home for a chat, drink and bed.
