London - day 1

Arrived safe and sound in London. Managed to grab just one taxi from near our apartment in Paris and shoved all our stuff in. Even though there are other transport options to / from CDG airport, getting a taxi is our preference as at least you dont have to lug all your junk around trains etc.
Checking in at BA in CDG was a bit of a trial. They've got new electronic check-in boxes that you have to use before doing the bag-drop. Off course most of them didnt seem to work so it took about 20 minutes to actually get our boarding passes. The flight was uneventful (as you want flights of course).
Caught a taxi from Heathrow, and yep, we managed to fit everything and everyone into the one black cab. phew, once again, direct to the hotel door. Caesar Hotel in Hyde Park / Bayswater area is very nice. Modern and clean and good breakfast options too. Once we were in the room and settled we went for a walk through Hyde Park and weaved our way down past Royal Albert Hall and then to Harrods. Silly us didnt realise it was a Saturday so Harrods was chockers. So crowded it was awful, so we did our quick shop and left. Walked around Hyde Park (we'd asked some coppers if it was OK to go through at night... NO WAY they say) on the way home and stopped at the local pub for dinner. Bangers and Mash!! Yum. Not happy that you can still smoke in public places in the UK. Stinky!
Home then for a bath...aaaaaah! Bliss.
Off to London this morning.
Not sure if we will have email at the hotel so we might 'go quiet' for a few days. We will, of course, update our blog as soon as we can.
Ciao for now and thanks for taking the time to read our adventures.
