Ashley in Musee d'Orsay

Today started with another lovely sit-down breakfast of croissants, cereal, juice and coffe. It's been very nice to have the family at the table for breakfast most days. Most Boulangeries seem to be closed on Mondays so I had walk a bit further afield to find an open one (like one extra block). Lazy breakfast over and metro to the Eiffel Tower. The line was fairly short, we only had to wait about 45 minutes. A clear day, a little hazy of course, but the view from the first platform was pretty good. Summit view was a bit too hazy and was quite windy on the west side. Ashley was a bit cranky as she decided she was hungry so she ended up getting a feed up there. Then metro back to the apartment for lunch, home made baguettes, and then a little slice of tart citron.

Cam, Ashley and Nick at the very top of the Eiffel Tower.

Off again to the Louvre as we had read in Lonely Planet that it was open until 9.45.  Once we got there though, on foot this time to make sure that Ashley went to sleep, we found out that it closed at 6pm. (ps. closed on tuesdays too, hence we went today). We went in anyway and did a fly-by of Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and some of the ancient roman statues. On the way out through the rear courtyard, a busker started playing his clarinet under the archways. Beautiful music... I dont think he needs to busk at all!! I reckon he was a professional playing for his own enjoyment. The accoustics under the archway was amazing. We hung around for a couple of tunes, gave him some euros for his efforts and then we headed for home. A fair hike but it was very pleasant weather and we got to look in a few shops. When we got home KL and Joc decided sushi was the go and because Cam and Nick don't eat "Cat Food" they decided it was junk food night. Cam and Nick went shopping and bought back a mgnificent spread of Sushi and Sashimi for the girls with all the extras and got KFC for themselves. The girls had a great feed and Cam and Nick had a horrible barely warm bland tasting dinner! Cam and Nick still won't eat Sushi though!
