Tattoos and Hanging with the Mayor of Las Vegas
Well, our second tattoo session was here - Melanie was getting a matching tattoo on her other ankle and it was my day to get my Haunted Mansion piece finished.....or so I thought! My stupid mosquito bites from Belize had not healed so she couldn't tattoo on me. WAHH!!! Well, she could've but it wouldn't have looked good since there would've been partial color so we decided I would wait until my next trip back to get it finished. Good thing I had something to occupy my time while Melanie was getting worked on (well, that and a tipsy Brett phone call while he was out in the NL with his friends...haha). The shop has one of the cool arcade games like I want for my house - love it! A bunch of different games are available to play on so I was set.
Melanie and I had several face offs on Centipede and Galaga, which she whooped my butt on almost every single time.Well, time for Melanie to get her tattoo done and *poof* it was already over. She did much better this time around than her last trip! :P We were both starting to feel better and decided we deserved a treat for being good girls for the last few days and we decided to head over to our favorite wing place - Tap House where we knew they were doing a "Drinks with the Mayor" night. For those who don't know Oscar Goodman - he's the coolest Mayor. He's done a lot for Las Vegas and is very well known for his involvement in the community. Turns out Nickhole, our tattoo artist, loves him so she was joking for us to get him to sign her business card.
Well, you know Mel and I are up for the challenge! :DWe got there and scoped out a table about 2 over from Mr. Goodman and proceeded to order a ton of wings and chow down while he mingled. It started to taper off some so Mel and I saw our opportunity to head over there and meet him. We got a picture with him and told him our friend Nickhole wanted to be there but couldn't and he signed her business card and we got him to pose with it as well. We were so jazzed! We emailed it to Nickhole that night when we got home and shortly thereafter she posted a blog on Myspace, "The Mayor Loves Me" HAHAHAHA.
It was a fun night and I wish I could've got my work done but oh well, just another excuse to come back out and visit again soon. :-)
