Girls Night Out - HONEY TOAST TIME! :P
Ok, on the road trip down to Tucson the weekend before, Melissa (Melissa919) and I had been talking about Ichiza and how I love their honey toast which she's never had. OMG?!!? How can you be a foodie, a dessert whore, and NOT have the honey toast. So disappointed in her! Tsk tsk! LOL We decided we would go to Ichiza one night while I was still in town - Monday being the best option since Melissa was off two days for Veteran's Day.
Well, Monday rolled around after Tucson and Melanie and I were sick as dogs so we pushed it to Wednesday. Although I still felt miserable, was not missing the honey toast I'd been craving for almost a year since Lisa (Lisabrook21) and I went. It worked out that Lisa was able to make it along with one of our other friends from work, Jen, who Melanie had met at a previous dinner get together over the summer.
We got lucky and got the tatami type table where you take your shoes off and sit around the big table. That was fun except for when I started thinking about all the nasty feet that graced the floor before me! Ewwwww.
We were starving since it was 8:30pm so we started ordering a bunch of food which was all supper yummy. I need to go back and update my review now with new food pictures! We had oysters, fried quail eggs (my fav), yellowtail tartare, sashimi platters, and a bunch of other stuff I am drawing a blank on right now.
And then it was time....HONEY TOAST time! :P We ordered two since Melanie couldn't have any (obviously not sugar free) and we devoured them. Melissa goes to tear into the toast and starts to break down the wall where I promptly yell at her! "Melissa!!!!! Don't break down the wall!!" It's kinda like a fort.
....you don't break down your defensive walls first and leave all the insides exposed! Geez! There was ice cream which would've been all over! Poor Melissa, I think I startled her when I snapped about the wall. We continued to chow and she sheepishly asked, "Can I eat the wall now?" I laughed and said she could now eat the wall. HAHAHAHAFun times with the girls although they proceeded to give me a lot of advice, while solicited, not what I really wanted to hear!!! HAHA. I love them to death and while I will probably never listen to a word they say on certain subjects, I respect their opinions! :P :P :P
Sadly it was time to go...poor Melissa had to be up early for work and it was headed towards 11pm already! Thanks to the girls for a great evening of laughter, serious talk, and HONEY TOAST! Until next time.......
