When embarking on an adventure such as this, the common question that often defines the trajectory of the trip is why one has undertaken it to begin with. If one were to ask me this, I doubt I could provide a satisfactory response. Hell, my preparation can easily be summarized thus: Drinking, Packing, Eating, and Spacing Out. As the travel progresses, however, I expect to discover some sort of meaning or, at the least, some sort of clarity out of my lasting haze.
Today, of course, I was not likely to escape from my self-produced fog as I spent the morning listening to Tina recount her adventures in Turkey and Greece and the evening in a traveling state. The only thing of interest I could relate from the evening is that, when we made it to the Airport in Thessaloniki, our bags were the only ones that made it. We left pretty quickly after that.
We arrived at the hotel at night, but I still observed something consistent with all the buildings: each one has balconies on every level. It was, therefore, not surprising to discover that our hotel room had a balcony. In the States, that would have been a treat.
We went to sleep pretty quick after such travels.
