Rest Stop at Sunset

Included here will be some stories of trips and vacations from long ago. Experiences from life both at home and on the road and a few very strange but true stories. Photos included will be there as evidence, visual proof, or just because I like them.

Rest Stop at Sunset

Sunset through the Eucalyptus trees.

California has some of the nations worst highway rest stops in the country.  Well, at least the ones I have seen.  So far in my travels, I would have to rate Oregon as having the best rest stops.  Clean, well landscaped, well maintained, and even some have attendants who serve cookies and coffee!

Well, today as I drove south along the coast I stopped at one near Oceanside for two reasons.  We won’t go into the first reason, but the second was that it was within just a very few minutes until sunset.  I do love sunsets, and have not had many good chances to photograph a good one.

Today was an excellent chance.  I found a good spot and waited about five minutes.

I also got a great sign, which was posted nearby.  Hope you enjoy both.

Ohhh I love the sunset pics! They are the best. I would have to agree with you on the rest stops in Ca. The ones in Oregon are the absolute best!

Roger, as we age, it's always good to stop alongside the road... and check out the scenery (especially after a few cups of coffee)
