I was so excited as it was a sea day to GLACIER BAY. We woke up at 4:30 am to light but when I went out on the balcony, I couldn't see a thing in front of me due to thick fog! UGH! Even the ship's fog horn sounded every 2 minutes! So I went back to bed until 7:30 and we went to breakfast and by 8:30 the fog was starting to lift. It did make for some cool pictures though. Approaching GLACIER BAY, it had fully lifted and what a wonderful sight it was! Such a beautiful and serene place. :) We approached the 1st of 4 glaciers we would see that day which was
MARJORIE GLACIER. I couldn't believe how still and calm the water was. The ripples from the ship were so pretty. It was oh so quiet too. Not many people were on their balconies since it was cold, but I didn't care. I was loving every minute of it! The water was 32 degrees farenheit and a pretty turquiose color. I got really excited upon hearing a loud rumbling noise to find out it was the glacier calving! I took some video. Other glaciers we saw were; GRAND PACIFIC - a black glacier, LAMPLUGH and JOHN HOPKINS. I also got a video of the glacier calving! We also saw an otter in the water just floating along and was so cute!
