We drove from Tuscany down to Sorrento and it was a lovely drive. Our car rental return site was tricky to find and we must've circled the main one-way loop in Sorrento about six times before we figured out where it was, lol! A car is definitetly not necessary in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
Sorrento has the loveliest streets lined with shops, cafes and restaurants. Walking around the city you can't help but notice the wonderful scent of lemon in the air and in every shop you will find many products made of or about lemons. Sorrento has a long history revolving around lemons and has many old lemon groves throughout the area. There are numerous shops that make and sell Limoncello, a liquor made from lemons, and will gladly offer you samples of the delicious drink. Most restaurants give you complimentary "shots" of Limoncello after your dinner.
