The Beverly Hills of Toronto
So here I am, on my first parkbenching expedition to Canada...
It's been almost 5 years since I set foot on this Foreign Nation. Since then my mind and my eyes have gotten bigger--thus allowing to "discover" and appreciate countries and cultures more than ever before...
So what can I discover about Canada? What is it about this nation that makes it distinct from its loud, fat, arrogant big brother to the south? While driving down the freeway or walking around a typical Ontario neighborhood it might be difficult to make any distinction... But I'm sure there are differences, and I'm going to find them.
It's pouring down rain, and I really don't want to experience Toronto in the rain. So I stop in what seems to be an upscale Torontan suburb--I'll call it Toronto's Beverly Hills. It's got block after block of fancy, very unique mansions. It's got a yacht marina in the lake. It's got a very classy downtown strip with expensive little botiques and restaurants.
I manage to play a short set and take a video clip in between showers.
OK. I've seen a rich Canadian town. Let's move on.
