0129 A very boring town called Washington (USA 061—new)

After our tour of Bridgeport we head back west towards home.  Of course we have to stop again in White Plains to finish my “concert” there and take my video clip.  I explain to my brother that leaving a town half finished like that would “haunt me for a long time”…

Then it’s a quick stop at a D-rated Chinese buffet somewhere in the Northeast New Jersey sprawl and we head for home... keeping our eyes peeled for one more town to conquer along the way.  Only one on our route looks sizeable enough: Washington, NJ.  Let’s see how it compares to the “real” Washington…

So we park the car and strolled down the Main Street which, although has a “Main Street” style, it sort of feels like it was just built yesterday.  Maybe the old Main Street got so run down that it was torn down and completely rebuilt.  Other than that Washington seems to be a very unparticular Northeast town... although my brother is intrigued by the old mansions converted into Funeral Homes... He happens to be a Funeral Director (yeah, seriously!) and wants to check them out... "and how will we explain the guitar I'm carrying?" I ask...

The only human contact we had in Washington was when I heard some commotion coming out of a second story window and I looked up...

"Keep your eyes to yourself!" a guy yelled.

Dude, what do you expect?  You're doing it right next to an open window...

As we parkbenched at a lonely park, I explained to my brother that the parkbenching session "still counts" even if there's no one there to listen...

And so we head on home and back to the Real World together.  It was great to have some company on my excursion, as I don’t know when will be the next time I’ll have some one join me on one of my quests.  It’s not very easy finding people who can appreciate this kind of lifestyle…
