This was my first visit to Kawah Putih (Indonesian for white crater). Lately, I often heard about this tourism spot, so I really curious what it looks like. It was a trip with my neighbors. It is usual in Indonesia, we travel to a tourism spot or have a picnic with neighbors. We rent a bus for 50 passengers. We leaved at 6 o'clock in the morning. I took my 2 children (Arin and Raya) and Raya's baby sitter.
In the bus, all passengers had chit chat with the ones who sat next to them, mothers, teenagers, and children. The journey was okay, we went through the toll road so it only took 2 hours from the entry gate in Jakarta to the exit one in Bandung. We had a traffic jammed in Kopo and we stopped at Hoka Hoka Bento to take our lunch.
In Ciwidey, the scenery was marvelous. I could see strawberry field at the right and the left side of the road. Ciwidey is wellknown for the strawberry.
Since we took a bus, we had to stop at the bus parking area, then we continue the trip by angkot. Angkot is a public transportation mini van. The angkot that took me to the top of the mountain (the crater is situated on the top of Mount Patuha) was an old car that sounded like a gun "dor dor dor" (or you may read bang bang bang).
At last we reached the top. There was a parking area for cars and there were many food stalls around it. We went to a gazebo to have lunch first. The lunch was delicious, Hoka Hoka... After having lunch, then we went down to the crater... And... beautiful scenery was there waiting for us. The crater was not white... it was even more beautiful... apple green. There were many people enjoying the view and... taking photos of course... just like what I did :)
After being satisfied with the scenery, we went back to our angkots. We would go to Bandung!!! Shop till you drop at Factory Outlets. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures in Bandung... kinda busy shopping... ha ha ha ha :D
