From Surabaya To Bromo

What happened to me was something that I didn’t really expect. That morning, it was raining very hard and I was caught in traffic jammed. So, the result was I arrived at the airport at the time we had to board. Five of us, my 2 daughters, my 2 nieces, and I were left by the airplane. Silly me, it was my mistake that I didn’t spare 1 or 2 hours to anticipate the traffic jammed. But, I couldn’t cry over the spilt milk right? So, I went to Mandala office to ask the next flight to Surabaya. Unfortunately, the next flight would be in the afternoon. It was too long, besides our schedule was really tight. This evening we would stay near Mount Bromo. And my 2Japanese friends would arrive at Surabaya in the morning.
So, I decided to ask Garuda and Adam Air offices. Garuda was too expensive for me, especially there were 5 of us and I just lost 5 tickets. So, I took Adam Air. After I knew the price, I went to ATM to take cash and buy the tickets. Then, we checked in and waited for boarding. I called my sister, Ririh, about what happened and told her that we would be late.
The flight was fine. My first daughter, Arin, was busy with her cousins so she didn’t have time to tease her little sister, Raya. Ririh asked me to take Hana and Ima (my nieces) to accompany Arin, so I wouldn’t be bothered by my daughters’ fight.
After, having lunch, we went straight to Bromo. Ririh couldn’t come along because she just got typhoid fever. She lent us her Kijang (a family wagon), complete with a driver. What a wonderful sister. I love you sis! When we went out from the toll road, there was traffic jammed. We were on the road just next to the mud “Lapindo”. We saw some cars stopped by and took the photographs of the huge area covered by mud. Ayako actually wanted to stop and see, but unfortunately we were late for Bromo.
It was dark, the way to Bromo was rather creepy for me. I couldn’t see what was at the right side of the road. At last we arrived at Grand Bromo Hotel. After we checked the rooms, we had dinner. It was late and the service was slow so we had to wait. I took rawon as my dinner. The taste was so so. After having dinner, we went to our rooms.
At night, I woke up several times. It was cold and I heard the sound of the wind. It blew among the pine tree leaves so it sounded like rain. The wind also blew the roof as if it would lift it. I saw my daughters and my nieces. They all slept tight.
