Dresden Main Station
Wow so we finally made it to the Czech Republic. Today has been a seriously long day. We flew into Frankfurt
this morning and then had to fly to Dresden
, Germany where our friends we going to pick us up. Obviously travelling for that long makes you quite tired, but when we finally arrived our adrenaline started pumping. At Dresden, because there were 10 of us and only 2 vehicles, we decided that myself, and three other guys would take the train from Dresden to Prague and then to the village of Kralupy. The journey started out great with our first train from the airport to the city centre. It was fun to just be able to sit down and look out the window.
Once we made it to Dresden main station, we bought our tickets to Prague and had about 2 hours to kill. We got some lunch and walked around what little of the city we could. It was quite cold and after 30 minutes, our tiredness beganto settle in so we went back and waited for our train. Once we finally got on board the train and settled into our little "room" all of us fell asleep. It wasn't the best sleep I had but none the less, it was sleep! I woke up off an on for about an hour and then decided to go get some coffee. Just as I was sitting down to take a sip, the train came to a stop and stayed there.... I wasn't sure what was going on (because the announcment was in German) but then they spoke in English and said the train had broken down. So we sat there for an hour and then we were on our way again. Still exhausted but glad to be moving. Eventually we made it to Prague. Took the underground for a few stops and then got on another 30 minute train ride to the village of Kralupy.. so in the end after a car ride, 3 flights, two trains, one undergroud, one more train and 24 hours.. we finally made it!!
