How it all came about

It was originally planned to be a kind of thanks giving, my brother & I decided to commerate our birthdays this way. But when the family heard, we ended up with a bunch of thanks giving & a total of 8 goats to scarifice. It varied from thanks for our blessings to a prayer for the dead. I was happy that we managed to do this trip.

Basically we paid for the goats & we gave some money for the preparation of the feast, the village or orphanage provided the man power. Thus we were invited for all the feasts, tasted some very nice local cooking & felt that we have contributed in some ways. We've donated money through my sister for years & this was the first time we got to visit the orphanages or mosques. My favourite was the last one as the place was run by women, it started as a single house but they have managed to purchase the house next door. They have about 25 kids there who attend the local school nearby. These kids were picked off the streets or abandoned.

Some of the other places are running pretty well, people donate computers, clothes etc etc. This place is more basic and still need more help, so in future that's where I shall forward my donations :)-
