munich - get to know

I survived the overnight euro rail ride Munich.  Next time, I better get a decent pillow bec last night the one they gave me was like a rock.  Oops, I didn´t get my pass validated, I hope they wont give me a hazzle getting back to France.  Dang, I forgot my German language phrase word book, now I´m out of words, unlike France. The DB train passed by many farmlands and pastures.  I was smelling methane everywhere.  I guess the cows are just needed to 'cut the cheese.' 

Missed the local walking tour this afternoon.  The Marienplatz looked like the made up german town I see in Disneyland but this time it´s for real.  I hope todo the Bike Tour tomorrow, it´s supposedly for 5 hrs.  It should be fun & a good exercise - dang I gained 5 pounds I think.

Went to the Olympic Stadium today, site of the 1972 killings during the Olympic games (see movie 'Munich' by Steven Spielberg)  They still used the site for concert venues.  In fact, George Michael as making his concert rounds.  Posters were scattered on stations announcing his music return. 

Accross the same site, the BMW Museum is located.  Yes, I went in, I`m a sucker for gorgeous cars I can´t afford.  Did you know that most of the Nazi cars and bikes that were used during WWII, was manufactured by BMW?  If I became rich one of these days, I'll be a beemer for myself.

Yeah, many local people here are driving BMW, Volkswagen, Opel, Renault - this is very rich town.

  Also went to the world famous Alliance Arena (the huge soccer stadium) - a great architectural marvel.  The toilets in the stadiums are cool.  I should have take photos. 

Stop by at a Turkish döner kebap eatery bec I was starving.  This place rocks!!  The owner was trying to make conversation with me.  Him with his German & broken English and me with my half-assed Deutch & English.  I basically told him that I'm a student from the US on holiday.

By the time I got out the Lesbian Bar was already closed, it´s only 8:30 pm!  I´ll return Weds night & check it out.  I was recommended to check out Füssen,where they have a famous German Castles (Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein -http://www.destination360.com/europe/germany/neuschwanstein-castle.php). 

It´s only 2 hours Euro rail ride from Munich. Gotta taste some beer tonight.  They have a Beer Bar here at the Hostel (http://www.famoushostels.com/hostel_eyh_munich).  tchuess,
