To Muroto, the southest point of Kouchi prefecture

Muroto Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

It is my first cycling trip! A friend told me Japan is a right size to have a trip by bike, exactly! We cycled one of the main lslands of Japan called Shikoku for 8days. Our plan was cycling along a cost clockwise. We did not have time to cycle the whole island so that we decided to did half of it, plus cut off a bit by train. I was looking forward to see sea and other several little islands between the main island!

For the first half it was an intensive cycling. We took a more difficult route than the main road. The road was up and down in quite ranges. It got me so exhausted but I loved the scinery on the way. There was several view points which people can park their car and take a look at view, but I thought other sights we saw during cycling was much better. I just stopped cycling, saw views and took pictures when I wanted to.

We met two old ladies selling oranges along the way. They were so nice and gave us a lot of oranges with plastic bags, saying "you need energy recently getting so hot, bring some oranges with you". I used word "orange" to describe them but they were not really an orange. it is between a tangeline and an orange.

I do not know other countries but in Japan fruites have brand according to where they were produced(probably it is simillar to the idea of wine?). They might look simillar each other but taste different. About orange or tangeline, there are many varieties and those produced in Shikoku were distinctive color and taste. My friend did not like it because its sour but I liked it. I liked the color which is more yellow like lemon.  But peering was not good. The skin attaches to fruits so much that I tasted more skin than fruit itself. These brand fruits are sold expensive in Tokyo. I could not help but thinking what the cost until they get to Tokyo. When I thought about those old ladies selling on a street, there should be some good business chances out there.
Pretty. I never had a strong preferance about green colour but it has been my best for a year!
Not only this time but also some things I saw there told me something could be done to make the local's life better. If I had a concrete idea and experience, I want to try business.

From now on what we did and saw was only cycling, road, sea, and rocks on sea. Sounds boring but I really enjoyed them!

Cycling on that date was the most enjoyable. I like empty sight. I enjoyed seeing no ending sea and road in front of me very much. It was my first time to see the deep blue of sea and I found that sea had a lot more color than just blue. Sea has many colors, tidal with wind, and rocks. There are some rocks which got interesting shaps. They are called Menoto Rocks. Menoto means wife and husband.

The rocks were sharped by sea and looked so cool. But it seemed as if they were sad so I did not think the name matched the rocks' appearance.

There was nothing along the way. Really nothing. It is not a countryside. It is the place nobody takes a glance at. Abandoned place(I did not mean anything mean here, just an observation).

We could find one hotel at the most south cape. We had Kujira, whale meat curry for dinner. I tried its row meat before but did not like it, and I was wondering how the cooked one would be. Same, I did not like it. It is possible that the quality was not good but just my preferance, which I do not like meat so much.

We cycled back a bit and found a place for tent in a park. It was interesting to find some other people doing tents there on the day like us. I did not expect to see other outsiders(travellers) there.

We got to the highlight place of the trip!
