Dark but the us at Sacre Coeur after finally meeting up.

1:00am

“Well, I only had to wait an extra hour yesterday, but we all magically found each other at the same time. It was a good feeling. We went into Sacre Coeur so they could look around briefly and then headed back to the Peace and Love Hostel to find Jeff’s hotel.

After extensive searching, we finally located it and got back on the subway. We got there and there was a line so Selida and I went outside to sit down. Shortly after Viginia come outside, completely frustrated, telling us Jeff is getting charged up the butt and the lady was keeping his passport until he paid. I went inside and he had just signed the receipt that read 213.00€. I was telling the lady it was wrong that she was making him stay when he didn’t want to and she said in her French accent “who is this?? First the other girl, now you? Are you his girlfriend?” She looked at Jeff and said “what are you, her babé??” (I wish I could say it to you how she said it, but you have to keep the French in mind) Jeff finally stepped inand said it was fine, he would just pay it and she continued by telling him if he found a nice girl to bring back to share the room, she would refund him part of his bill.

The awesome pizza place. I wish I could remember the name.
By that time I was disgusted and walked outside. To this moment, he is still bitter about it. We began calling him Pushover Jeff because he let her intimidate him into paying way more than he should have. (** sidenote** I have no idea the name of this place, but it was down a little side street in Montmartre. Be careful there.)

So by this time, it was about 9pm. We (the girls) had decided we would be spending the next few nights in this 20€ a night hotel a guy at their hostel hooked us up with. I had needed to return to my hostel by 8pm to reserve my toom for the next night, so I would have no where to stay and the girls’ reservations were mysteriously cancelled so they were out after 1 night also.

We were all starving so after the hotel fight, we looked for a pizza place in that area to eat.

They had pop music on and had Marilyn Monroe and Bob Marley pics on the wall. We decided to imitate and take a picture. hehe.
We picked a great place. Cheap and delicious, great atmosphere. The waiter and owner were both really nice. After dinner, we left and started to the metro. I had forgotten my bag of souvenirs I had purchased under the table and the waiter followed up a whole 2 blocks to return it. He was super nice! (** I still dream about this pizza, to this day it was the best margarita pizza I have ever had)

I forgot to tell about this earlier but while in Montmartre a man stopped me and started to  sketch my picture. After about 5 minutes he showed me this rough drawing of me, I guess and told me it was 30€, student price, regularly 50€. When he started sketching he said you buy if you like. I told him I was not paying 30€. The most I would pay is 5€. He said 20, then 10.  I started to walk away and then, “FINE.

The cafe located across from the golden statue on rue de Rivoli. It has great croque-madames.
5€.” I was proud of myself for bargaining.

Anyways, so after dinner, we all went back to my hostel to see if they could book the Versaille trip online. (**I had prebooked a bus day trip to Versaille.) Unfortunately you had to book 48 hours in advance, but we planned to go in the morning to see if they could get in and we would be checking in to our hotel in the morning so, said goodnight and went to bed.

I woke up this morning, accidentally slept in my contacts, more tired than previous mornings, but I had to meet everyone at 10:15 at the Peace and Love hostel. Got ready, spoke to my Aussie roomies for a few minutes ( I got new ones the next night) and headed back on the metro with my luggage.

After meeting up with everyone we went to McDonalds quickly so I could get some breakfast (it was right there).

Versaille gates
I got some (2) pancakes (silver dollar size) and juice. It was pretty good. We made our way to the hotel Saint Sebastien, and of course, checking in was a problem. They only had us down for one night. We immediately asked for the guy we spoke to on the phone the day before, Kubi and the lady called him.

The large, scary looking man who spoke English and French came in to the rescue. We told him I needed 3 nights and the others only 2. He spoke with the lady and amazingly, we had a room. He stayed until everything was worked out and used the phone. While on the phone we overheard him tell someone “If you cross me, I’ll cute you into 10 pieces” and then slammed the phone down. We believe Kubi is a mobster or something of the sort, someone we definitely do not want to mess with. (**sidenote** it was hilarious because immediately after he left, we all grabbed our journals and were like “what exactly did he say” as we were scribbling.

Versaille
)

After about 20 minutes, we were in our room and read to head to the Paris vision office. While waiting in the lobby, I called them to see if their was availability but they said they didn’t have any but to come at 1:55pm to see if there were any cancellations.

We got on the Metro and after we found the office, we went to this café for lunch. I got a croquet-madame, which is a grilled ham and cheese with an egg overeasy on top. It was different but really good. I had to leave early to get to the bus on time but they were following a few minutes later to try to join. Only Jeff was able to join me. Unfortunately Virginia and Selida never made it to Versaille. (it was a little weird because I knew Jeff had a crush on me, and then I had to spend the day alone with him, but you will hear more)

I think Jeff has a thing for me (hehe).

Versaille
It was more evident in our time alone at Versaille. Versaille was beautiful. Huge and luxurious. We  didn’t get to see much of the house because we were so busy trying to get to the gardens for the show. My French teacher told me they only do it so often and it was well worth seeing. I took tons of pictures of the fountains. They were so pretty. I got some ice cream and we sat along the lake and just talked the whole time. Jeff kept telling me he needed to get a picture of me (not with me, but of me). I kept saying here? He didn’t have a camera so I offered him my disposable, he took it and took some pictures but ended up giving it back at the hotel so I didn’t have to bring my big camera out with us later that night.

After Versaille we came back to the hotel to meet up with everyone. I took a shower and everyone returned with Matt.

Fountain show
We all go ready and headed to Le Champs Elysée for dinner to see L’Arc de Triumphe and La Tour Eiffel lit up at night.

On the tour bus, they told us about this very popular café that all the stars at at while in Paris. I decided to suggest it for dinner and we ended up eating there. Fouget’s was amazing. I had the roasted chicken with scalloped potatoes. It was such a wonderful dinner. Well worth the money and it still wasn’t that expensive. It was very filling.

After dinner, we began to walk down the street waiting for all the lights to come on. It does not even begin to get dark until 10:30pm. By 11 thought we saw the Eiffel Tower tip sparkeling and high tailed it there to see it before the metro shut down for the night.

Me and the fountain

The Eiffel Tower was spectacular lit up at night. Even more magical than during the day. It gave me yet another reason to be in love with this structure. I stopped and bought a hoodie on the way, not the same one I had my eye on in Montmartre but that one was 45€ and this was 29€. Cheaper and same concept, black with white writing Paris France, just written differently. I couldn’t pass up the price. We made it to the Eiffel Tower with only a few minutes to take some pictures before having to return to the metro to get home cheap.

Fountain
We made it just in enough time and now am ready to get to sleep. Tomorrow we are going to the Louvre. It should be another exciting day here in Paris, France. Bon soir!!
