one of the trailers near CWC - quite nice inside. Very roomy too! Highly recommended!

Summer outing with my College friends. We decided to check out Bicol - for the ever famous CWC for some wakeboarding and experience swimming with the whale sharks locally known as Butandings.

April 30 - Our bus to Naga left Manila at 9 pm. We opted to take the bus with the lazy boy seats and decided to take the last trip to Naga since all of us would be coming from work. The bus was great - flat screen tv, spacious seats, clean bathroom - it kind of reminds me of riding the business class of a plane. The only down side of the bus ride was its freezing air condition. I was freezing the whole time therefore had a hard time trying to sleep. Nonetheless, the was smooth sailing all the way. Even though it was suppose to be 10 hours long, it was cut short by 2 hours (Yey!).

May 1 (Naga) - Was picked up by the shuttle of Ecovillage. Ate breakfast first since our room wasn't ready yet. We were actually thinking of wakeboarding at 8 am but we were dead tired from the bus ride so most of us ended up napping the whole morning. At around 3 pm, we headed back to CWC for some wakeboarding. There were a lot of people so we got to start at 5 pm. Actually, we only got to do some kneeboarding since we're all beginners. Nonetheless, it was FUN!!!

May 2 - Woke up at 3 am to get ready for another road trip to Donsol (via Legaspi). We were all groggy and grouchy since we only had a few hours sleep.

We arrived in Donsol at 6 am. Our spirits were almost crushed when we were told that our butanding interaction would be pushed back to 11 am. Ideally, you should be off the dock at 8 am since the whale sharks are usually out and about in the morning until 10 am. So hearing that the next available boat is at 11, we all wanted to cry. But thanks to Ms Ange from Amor Beach Resort, she found us an available boat last minute and took us whale shark hunting at 8 am! WOOHOO!!!

Whale shark interaction - there were very few whale sharks out that day. I think the 120 boats spooked them - so we only spotted 5 but the last butanding we saw was the most memorable one. As our BIO told me to look down - the whale shark was there alright - right in front of me and it just opened its mouth to eat some fish! It was HUGE! beautiful! I was half tempted to touch it but left my hand hovering over the fish since its prohibited to touch them.

Magnificent creatures!!!

Fireflies/River cruise - 6 pm, a bangka fetched us in front of our resort for some fireflies watching/river cruising. The entire stretch of the river, you see loads of fireflies. Beautiful! They were like animated versions of christmas lights. The best part was a firefly landed in my palm! I thought it died or something but as my friends and I looked closer it flew away. All in all, the fireflies.river cruise is something you shouldnt miss if your in Donsol.

May 3 - Last day of our vacation. We didnt have any plans really except go to legaspi and kill some time until our bus leaves for Manila. We were thinking of going to Cagsawa to check out the church tower near the magnificent Mayon volcano, but we were all tired and some of my friends were not up to walking around with all our things.  While in Legaspi, we got a great view of the Mayon. Even though its not as perfect as it was before, it was still magnificent!
