Home sweet home - nice set up by TopDeck
But unfortunately the celebrations of Oktoberfest were not starting until the following day.

We arrived at the campsite mid morning and it was a great sight to see all the blue TopDeck tents set up and ready for us - they even had inflated matresses inside.  Breakfast was also ready so we sat around and had a bit of food before cleaning ourselves up after the marathon coach ride.

Our tour guide took us around the city of Munich, showing us a few sites and giving a bit of history.  It's a quaint city, not very busy.  A scaled down version of London might be a way of looking at it - lots of historical buildings which house funky new stores.

After an hour or so of walking around we were introduced to the Hofbrauhaus which is off a small side street.  It was an experience in itself just to walk through the doors to see a traditional drinking hall complete with Frauleins carrying far too many steins than you'd think possible.

It was so great to sit at a big wooden table to have a stein of fresh Hofbrau slammed down in front just waiting to be picked up and clinked together to the shout of "cheers!".
